Why You Should Not Pay for WordPress Themes

There are more blogs out there than even Google can count. If you run a search on any given subject, a large chunk of the search results you get will contain blogs on whatever topic it is you typed in. Blogging has become so ubiquitous that there are blogs dedicated to ridiculously specific sites. With this abundance of blog sites on the internet, and with the number of new blogs growing every day, it’s no wonder that so many people try to purchase blog themes in order to make their blogs stand out. But is there really a good reason why you should not pay for WordPress themes?

You could certainly purchase one if you want to, but it’s likely to be mostly unnecessary. There are plenty of great themes for free available out there. One of the most compelling reasons why you should not pay for WordPress themes is that there are so many great free ones to choose from. There are all kinds of designs, from edgy and hip to soft and feminine to whimsical and fun. No matter what the subject of your blog is, you’re bound to be able to find a great theme without having to pay a cent.

Another reason why you should not pay for WordPress themes is that, unless you plan to use your blog as a business marketing tool, it’s not really going to matter much what your theme is. Sure, it’s nice to have a cool theme to break up the monotony of just text on a blank page, but that’s a function that can be served well enough with a free theme. Many free themes are just as sleek and well-appointed as the ones you have to pay for, and have many of the same features you want, as well.

Ultimately it comes down to this: why pay for something when you can get something else just as good for free? That’s the most compelling reason why you should not pay for WordPress themes. The fact is that you simply don’t have to. There is plenty of selection available to you, even if you don’t intend to pay anything for your theme. And, ultimately, you want the star of the blog to be your content, not your fancy site design. For most people and most purposes, free themes are more than just good enough. They’re perfect to showcase your content.
